Cuddfan, Myrddin's Legacy

Treat her with contempt and she will open the gates to Hell!"
ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND HIS STORY

In 2009, I retired from working in the film industry and bought a yacht to live aboard in Deganwy Marina in North Wales. My original idea was to learn to sail and take her to the Mediterranean to live out my years in the sun. However, I fell in love with North Wales and have lived aboard her ever since.
In 2010, I spent six glorious months on a swinging mooring on Menai Strait near Menai Bridge on Anglesey and it was there I began writing Arthur's Seed to pass away the long summer days and evenings. It's a strange thing, but I have always felt that I was given the story by the ghosts of the great Celtic storytellers of the past who used to inhabit Ynys Mon many centuries before. I became fascinated by the ancient Celtic stories and poems of the Welsh Warrior Kings, and after a little research, Arthur's Seed was born. All of the locations in my story are for real, including the wonderful little island near Menai Bridge, where Izzy spies the Herons when the her family pick up a mooring after leaving Deganwy Marina at the start of their sailing holiday.
In 2014, I formed a group to develop the story into a film. The Red Wings Film Project gained a lot of supporters from professionals and students to get involved in adapting my story into a film, but sadly, our sponsor pulled out at the last minute, and the project was shelved.
During the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, I began to create a series of video podcasts, which I released on a local Facebook group page and, later, from my own website. They became so popular with fans that they asked me where they could buy copies of the book. Over the years, I had tried to get several publishing companies interested in publishing, but due to being an unknown author, my submissions fell on deaf ears. So, I decided to self-publish, and in January 2021, my book was released to the world.
There have been many books published on the legend of King Arthur plus numerous films about his life. Historians have tried to identify who this man really was but, due to the many versions written down over the centuries by various chroniclers who adapted and added new characters of their own to their story, the truth will never be known. Most Hollywood films about him are based on the 15th-century version of Le Morte d’Arthur by Thomas Mallory. Most historians believe that if he was real, he would have lived around the 6th century AD. There are many anomalies in his life story written down by these later so-called chroniclers in the hope of attracting a wider audience that the real story of his life will be forever shrouded in mystery.
My story is different and unique in that, having researched the early Celtic versions of his life and death, I wanted to imagine what a King would do if he had become an immortal after his death living in the Celtic Otherworld (their version of heaven), as was the belief of all of the Celtic civilisations throughout Europe at the time. In most of the stories you hear about his death, he and his close warriors were taken to Avalon by his spiritual advisor, Merlin, to be reborn. However, Merlin was not his real name; it was Myrddin Willt. And I have recently uncovered facts that Avalon may actually be Ynys Enlli. A small island off the LlÅ·n Peninsula in North Wales known as Bardsey Island in English. Why do I believe this to be true? I have discovered many interesting facts about the island and Myrddin Willt that you can find out for yourselves if you take the time to browse the internet.
So you see, this is not just another story of the life of the legend that is King Arthur. To find out more revealing facts about the mysterious Kingdom of Cuddfan and what Izzy and her brothers' connections are with this magical world, you can order a copy of the first book in the planned trilogy of this amazing story from Amazon, The Great British Bookshop, plus most book retailers online and on the High Street.
